Palma | Spain
Fly to Majorca with easyJet and TUI on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Always a favourite with Brits, Majorca’s appeal is enduring with over 260 beaches to choose from, ranging for secluded rocky coves and busier, family-friendly ones.
Popular spots include Cala Formentor in the north-west, Illetas, 20-minutes west of Palma, Port de Pollença on the island’s northern tip, and Cala Millor which is great for kids and known for its lively night-time vibe. Then, of course, there are the ever-popular resorts of Magaluf and Palma Nova, favourites with the younger crowd.
Away from the beach there’s plenty to do – visit the Coves del Drac (or Dragon Caves), one of Majorca’s top tourist sights. The guided tour of stalactites and stalagmites ends with a floating violin concert on Lake Martel, Europe’s largest underground lake. The vintage train from Palma via Bunyola to Soller is also a fun day out, roaming past farmland, almond groves and citrus trees.
