Bienvenida to Palma de Mallorca, the sunshine city and capital of the Balearics. Palma lies southwest of the island, and at just shy of 2 and a half hours from Southampton airport, it is a great destination for a city break in winter, just as it is for a longer summer holiday with practically guaranteed sun-baking in store.
Hip, cosmopolitan and buzzing, the Palma of today is world’s apart from the All Day English breakfasts, foam parties and high rises of Magaluf and beyond. It’s here you can really rock the Kasbah, with an old town built in Moorish times; it’s packed with trendy bars and brilliant dining. Pair that with beautiful beaches, beautiful people, art and architecture and it’s a heady island mix.
Transport from Palma Airport
Just 8km from the city, you’ll find all the major car rental companies at the airport if you need to hire a car, or there are plenty of City Buses to take you to your beachside destination. Passengers are advised to always take a taxi from a signed rank – outside Arrivals or alternatively you can book one in advance.
