General aviation
The information on this page is intended to assist all General Aviation pilots and private jet operators wishing to visit Southampton International Airport. The information provided is designed to help with the planning of your visit, and make your visit an easy and pleasurable experience.
Self-handling is not available at Southampton Airport. All flights including General Aviation and Charter Flights must have an appointed handling agent before arrival.
All flights are subject to the prior approval of the Operations Director, Southampton International Airport Ltd and prior notification to Airport Coordination Ltd (ACL), who act as an agent for the airport.
Exception to General Aviation and military flights who gain a PPR via Signature +44 (0)238 061 6600, requests for ad-hoc slot allocations should be made to ACL.
Arrival
All GA aircraft will be required to park in a designated stand or apron instructed by ATC by either self-manoeuvring or under marshaller guidance. Before arrival, please familiarise yourself with marshalling signals and airfield layout.
Whilst transiting on the apron, crew must wear fastened Hi-Vis and any passengers must be under supervision.
UK Arrivals
All GA crew and passengers arriving from a UK destination will be required to vacate the airfield via designated handler facilities.
Channel Islands and non UK Arrivals
Any GA passengers arriving from the Channel Islands or a country outside of the UK are required submit a General Aviation Report to UK Border force within the required time frames via email to borderforcesouthamptondutyofficer@homeoffice.gov.uk
Please be advised of notice periods to submit report:
- European Union = 4 hours Notice
- Channel Islands & I.O.M = 12 hours Notice
- Non E.U or Channel Islands = 24 hours notice
Departure
If flying IFR or to a non UK mainland destination please ensure a flight plan is submitted prior to your departure. If flying VFR to a UK mainland destination you will be required to book out with a member of the Operations. IFR flight plan facilities are not available through airside operations.

World Fuel Services
Fuelling services are provided by World Fuel Services which can be requested via handling agent.

Southampton Airport is not a 24-hour Airport, our opening hours vary depending on commercial requirements.
