Southampton Airport set to welcome passengers for busy Easter Getaway

Southampton Airport set to welcome passengers for busy Easter Getaway

Southampton Airport is preparing for a busy Easter travel period, with more than 28,000 passengers expected to pass through the terminal between 30 March and 19 April.

The airport is gearing up for strong demand across the school holidays, with travellers heading for family visits, short breaks to the Channel Islands and Ireland, and early‑season sunshine escapes.

Among Southampton’s top destinations, Belfast City and Guernsey lead the way across the Easter period. Dublin and Jersey also feature prominently as popular short‑haul options.

International travel is also expected to be busy throughout the Easter season.

Amsterdam remains the airport’s most popular overseas destination, while travellers are also heading in strong numbers to Paris Orly, Palma, Faro and Barcelona.

Maurice Boyle, Operations Director at Southampton Airport, said: “We’re pleased to be welcoming more than 28,000 passengers over the Easter break as people take advantage of the school holidays and start their spring travel plans.

“With a combination of popular routes to the Channel Islands, Ireland and mainland Europe, we’re looking forward to a lively and positive few weeks across the terminal.

“Our teams will be on hand throughout the period to support passengers and help ensure a smooth and enjoyable start to their journey.”

Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead to help ensure a seamless airport experience, including arriving in good time, pre‑booking parking where possible, and preparing hand luggage in line with current UK security regulations. Travellers are reminded that liquids carried in hand luggage must remain within the 100ml limit until national rules change.
