A new partnership has begun between GO! Southampton and Southampton Airport aiming to boost tourism in the city centre.
Bold and bright flags have been installed outside the airport displaying Southampton, Hampshire and Union flags as well as a brand new “Welcome to Southampton” sign, which takes pride of place at the airport’s arrivals area.
These latest changes to one of the region’s busiest travel hotspots also included branded luggage trolleys, new leaflet racking as well as updated visuals on terminal doors.
The changes have been introduced to reflect the city’s identity as a vibrant tourist destination as part of GO! Southampton’s ongoing efforts to drive footfall into the city and support the local economy.

Stephen Manion, Executive Director at GO! Southampton, said: “We want to connect the airport with the city centre as much as we can and encourage tourists into Southampton when they arrive. This is about showing people here for business or leisure that Southampton has plenty to explore.”
Maurice Boyle, Operations Director at Southampton Airport, said: “We’re pleased to be working with GO! Southampton to help create a stronger connection between the airport and the city. These new touches around the terminal offer a warm welcome and give visitors a first glimpse of what Southampton has to offer.
“It’s a simple but effective way to encourage more people to explore the city and support the local economy. With excellent road, rail and bus links, the airport is perfectly placed to connect people to the wider region, making it even easier for visitors to discover everything Southampton and the surrounding area have to offer.”
