Southampton Airport set for busy festive season as thousands take to the skies

Southampton Airport is preparing for a bustling festive season, with thousands of passengers expected to jet off for winter escapes or reunite with loved ones.

The airport expects more than 38,000 travellers over the festive fortnight, with its busiest day forecast on Monday 22 December when around 3,000 passengers will pass through the terminal.

From short hops to the Channel Islands to European city breaks and winter sun destinations, Southampton Airport offers a convenient gateway for festive travel.

Top destinations this Christmas include Amsterdam, Glasgow, Dublin, Guernsey and Belfast offering everything from vibrant city breaks to relaxing island escapes.

Gavin Williams, Managing Director of Southampton Airport, said: “The festive season is a special time for travel, and we’re delighted to help thousands of passengers start their celebrations. Whether heading home or jetting off for a winter break, our team is ready to make every journey smooth and enjoyable. We encourage everyone to arrive in good time and soak up the festive atmosphere at the airport.”

Passengers can enjoy an easier security experience thanks to the airport’s new process, which allows liquids up to 100ml, large electrical items, and other belongings to remain inside hand luggage.
