Loganair, the UK’s leading regional airline, will launch a new route from Southampton Airport later this month.
The Southampton to Manchester route will launch from 26 October as part of the airline’s investment in its new Southampton base.
This will see around 50 roles based at Southampton, with additional routes planned as part of Loganair’s strategy for expansion across the south of England.
Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said: “Our new Southampton base is a significant investment in the local area. This is a very exciting time for our airline.
“The Manchester-Southampton route is the first step in the launch of our new Southampton base, which will formally open in March 2026. We have already received a very positive response to our early ticket sales for these new routes, and we are encouraging customers to book fast to avoid missing out.”
Fares start from £72 one-way, offering greater convenience to customers than lengthy rail journeys and are a well-priced, practical alternative for those travelling between the regions.
Customers will benefit from Loganair’s signature services, including a 21kg total luggage allowance (15kg hold baggage and 6kg cabin baggage), family-friendly policies with discounts for children under 12, and the convenience of a locally based carrier providing reliable connectivity.
More recently, Loganair was named the most punctual for UK arrivals and departures in Q2 2025 by the UK Civil Aviation Authority, with 86% of its flights arriving and departing on time.
Those booking directly through Loganair’s website can also collect Avios, thanks to its partnership with the global travel rewards programme.
