KLM Celebrates Five Years of Service from Southampton Airport

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is proud to celebrate five years of service from Southampton Airport, connecting South-Central England to the world.

Since launching its operations in 2020, KLM has provided travellers from the region with access to an extensive global network. Currently, the airline offers flights to over 160 destinations via Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, which is renowned for its award-winning “one terminal” concept.

Recent KLM data showcases a demand for travel between Southampton and different regions across the world, be it for business, holidays or to visit friends and relatives.

  • The Netherlands, Germany, Italy Denmark and France are the top visiting and visited countries so far this year.
  • The top long-haul visited countries include the US, UAE, Hong Kong Ghana and Nigeria.
  • Brazil and Canada join the US, UAE and Hong Kong in the list of top 5 ranking of visiting countries beyond Europe

This year, KLM has further expanded its network with the introduction of new routes which can be reached from Southampton, via Amsterdam. Georgetown (Guyana), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Hyderabad (India) began operating in summer 2025. Kittilä, in the Lapland region of Finland, is the latest destination being introduced to the KLM network as of this winter.
