AGS Airports a Cut Above: Three Swords of Honour Awarded for Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton Airports by British Safety Council

AGS Airports a Cut Above: Three Swords of Honour Awarded for Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton Airports by British Safety Council

AGS Airports is celebrating after all three of its airports have been awarded the prestigious Sword of Honour by the British Safety Council.

Aberdeen International, Glasgow and Southampton airports have been recognised for their excellence in health and safety management.

This achievement follows all three airports securing the maximum Five Star Rating in the British Safety Council’s rigorous health and safety management audit earlier this year.

To qualify for the Sword of Honour, organisations must demonstrate outstanding health and safety practices across all operations.

As the award name suggests, each airport was presented with a ceremonial sword at the British Safety Council in London. Southampton Airport was also awarded the sector award for transport, distribution and storage in the health and safety category.

The Sector Awards recognise organisations with "best in class" submissions by industry sector under the 3 categories: health & safety, environmental management and wellbeing.

Roger Hunt, Chief of Staff at AGS Airports, said: "We are delighted that all three of our airports have once again been recognised with the Sword of Honour.

“This award reflects the unwavering commitment of our teams to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety for our passengers, staff, and partners.

“Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and this recognition is a testament to the professionalism and dedication of everyone across AGS Airports."

Peter McGettrick, Chairman of the British Safety Council, added: "On behalf of the board of trustees and staff of the British Safety Council, I would like to congratulate AGS Airports on achieving the highest standards of health and safety management.

“Achieving recognition of this sort takes absolute dedication and professionalism, and we are proud to support your organisation in its achievement."
