Southampton Airport is in the process of submitting a planning application to Eastleigh Borough Council to enable the first phase of delivery of proposals outlined in its master plan document, A Vision For Sustainable Growth.
We have been working closely with the local authority and have carried out a significant series of technical assessments, public and stakeholder consultation.
Our planning application will cover:
- A 164 metre extension at the northern end of the runway, within existing airport boundaries;
- An associated blast screen adjacent to the runway;
- Up to an additional 600 car parking spaces.
The timeline for the planning application, and if successful, runway development:
We are holding a number of public information drop-in sessions over the coming weeks of which can be found here: Public Information Drop-in Sessions
Free refreshments will be provided for the session on site at the airport itself and free parking will be available in the short stay car park.
More drop-in sessions will follow soon and details will be listed here.
A guide to how we use Noise Preferred Routeings can be found here.
The planning application is scheduled to go live for public consultation in November. Planning application number to follow once known.
Updated information will be posted here as it becomes available.
