Onward travel connections
Connecting at Southampton
Connecting for onward journeys at Southampton Airport is a breeze through experience, with short walking distances and minimal queuing times. All staff work hard to ensure that your transfer is as quick and easy as possible.
Customs and immigration
All international arrivals must pass through immigration. Please proceed to the departure area, ensuring that you already have a boarding card and your baggage has been through-checked to your final destination.
Your baggage may be through-checked to your final destination, but please confirm this with your airline as not all offer this service.
If your baggage is not through-checked, please collect it from the baggage reclaim hall, then check your bags in as normal for the next leg of your journey.
The check-in area is located a short walk from the baggage reclaim hall.
You will usually be issued with all necessary boarding cards at your original point of departure. If this is not the case, please contact your airline on arrival.
The minimum connection time for Southampton Airport is 45 minutes.
All connecting passengers must follow the signs to exit the arrivals hall and once in the main concourse of the terminal proceed back through security to departures (providing you have already checked in and your luggage has been checked through).
If your inbound flight is delayed and you are likely to miss your outbound flight, please speak to an airline representative at the check in desk who will be able to advise you of your options.
Getting help at the airport
For all general enquiries, please go to the airport Help Point, located in the Arrivals Hall and main concourse, or speak to one of our roaming Airport Ambassadors.
The airport closes overnight. If your booking includes a stopover in a local hotel, then simply leave the airport via passport control, baggage reclaim and customs, then check in as normal ahead of your onward flight.
If you need to find a place to stay, you can book a local hotel with us.
