To coincide with the planning application which is now live, Southampton Airport has published and shared an information leaflet on all you need to know when it comes to the runway extension.
Posted to over 8,000 residents living directly adjacent to the runway and now available to read online, the informative leaflet answers and demystifies questions about the extension, which will be added to the existing runway within the airport’s already existing boundary.
Once and if approved by Eastleigh Borough Council, the airport is set to bring opportunities and sustainable growth to Hampshire including 500 extra jobs and greater investment into the county and regional economy.
The runway extension will also mean that aircraft already operating at the airport will be able to operate more efficiently within the airports current operating times, which will remain unchanged.
Aircraft types that currently operate in and out of the airport include Airbus A320, Boeing 737, Boeing 757, ATR 72-300 and Bombardier Q400 – the airport will never be able to accommodate any larger aircraft.
