Neil Garwood, Managing Director at Southampton Airport, said: “We are pleased that our brand new VIP lounge not only can be used for the benefit of our passengers, but to support our charity partner, and every visitor of the lounge can be proud to have contributed towards a worthy cause. We’ve established an amazing relationship with HIOWAA and are committed to continue our support through a variety of fundraising activities and events like this.”
The event marks the beginning of the National Air Ambulance Week 2018 and will run until Friday 14 September. HIOWAA’s volunteers will also engage the passengers with fundraising activities in the terminal throughout the week.
Ray Southam, Corporate and Community Fundraiser for HIOWAA, said: “Southampton Airport continues to find innovative ways to support us. National Air Ambulance Week is a fantastic platform for all Air Ambulance charities to raise their profile and we’re very grateful to Southampton Airport for promoting our charity to their passengers in this unique way. The money raised from their VIP lounge offer will help us to continue flying and saving lives across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.”
