Southampton Airport celebrates 25,000 flights to Amsterdam with Flybe

Southampton Airport celebrates 25,000 flights to Amsterdam with Flybe

Sharing a slice of success, passengers at Southampton Airport enjoyed a special cake on Tuesday 19 March to celebrate 25,000 flights to Amsterdam with Flybe. To make the day truly special, the airport together with Flybe presented a travel voucher to one lucky passenger, Natalie Barton, who was the 25th person to book that flight.

Natalie Barton arrived at the airport ready for her flight when she was presented with the vouchers. She said: "It was quite a pleasant surprise to have been informed that I had won two free flights. I use Flybe regularly for business as it is really convenient being able to fly from my local airport. I am hoping to use the free flights for pleasure rather than business by treating my boyfriend with a trip away."

Simon Young, Head of Passenger Operations at Southampton Airport, said: “We are very pleased to bring so many smiles to our passengers this morning with this delicious cake. We really wanted to thank everyone for choosing Southampton Airport and to remind them of our great links to Amsterdam and the rest of the world.”

Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, Roy Kinnear comments: “Our Amsterdam flights from Southampton have proved exceptionally popular from the minute we first put them on sale back in 2006. Demand continues to be high and this summer we have enhanced the schedule offering customers the choice of four flights a day, Monday through Friday and three flights a day at weekends.  We are delighted therefore to now celebrate this 25,000th flight milestone with our airport partners!”
