Aperitif in a Gondola

Fly to: Geneva

Looking for somewhere a bit different for a romantic meal? In the French ski resort of Les Gets you can sample some great food and great views while you climb the side of the mountain in a Gondola. The 30 minute return ride includes a selection of delicious dining aperitifs and wine.

St Valentine’s Bones

Fly to: Glasgow

Visit the man who started it all, the patron saint of love, St Valentine in Glasgow. In 1868 a wealthy French family made a donation to the Franciscan church in Glasgow, a small wooden box labelled “Corpus Valentini Martyris” or “the Body of Saint Valentine”. After over a century of almost complete anonymity the relic was moved to Blessed St John Duns Scotus where it has been given a place of honour at the church’s entrance.

Bushcraft bonding

Fly to: Newcastle

If you fancy doing something a bit different on your next date, how about learning some survival skills and getting a bit closer to nature. At Gibside National Trust property near Newcastle you can learn how to make a fire using traditional techniques and try other bushcraft skills while enjoying campfire refreshments.

Wed and Walk

Fly to: Amsterdam

Instead of popping the question over dinner, why not go the extra mile and get married for the day? At the Wed and Walk Chapel in Amsterdam you can do just that. No need to worry about the wedding planning, finding the perfect dress or remembering the rings, they have it all sorted with dresses in all sizes, veils, tailcoats and top hats, rings and a ceremony which even includes a personal speech under a flower arch. And your special day really does only last a day as at sunrise the next morning you are no longer married.

Real life Les Mis

Fly to: Guernsey

You can experience a little of the the Les Misérables story for yourselves.  The real-life love story is set at Candie Gardens, between French writer Victor Hugo and his mistress Juliette Drouet. The author wrote Les Misérables when he was exiled to the island in 1855, where he also met with his lover at the Victoria Tower, built to honour a visit to the island by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Visit the museum and collect the key to the tower, then head up the 99 stairs for private views across St Peter Port.

Mountain pampering

Fly to: Salzburg

A stunning outdoor thermal spa set against a mountain backdrop, Aqua Palace is a great destination for couples. Choose from a range of treatments for two or simply sink into complete relaxation. Their unique, futuristic bowl-shaped pools give a feeling of weightlessnesss - book your trip to include a Friday night and you can try out the moonlight bath experience; offering pure romance under the star-spattered sky of the Ötztal until midnight…
