This popular resort has three ski areas on its doorstep – Arêches-Beaufort, Les Contamines and Les Saisies. ArêchesBeaufort, overlooked by majestic Mont Blanc, benefits from one of the most plentiful annual snowfalls in the entire Alps. It’s a great all-round resort.


Located in the Three Valleys, one of the world’s largest lift-linked ski areas, Courchevel covers an impressive 600km of slopes. It’s made up of several villages, each one with its own special vibe and traditional charm. This is a truly beautiful resort with outstanding facilities.


Sitting at the end of the Tarentaise Valley, Val d’Isère is one of the world’s most famous ski resorts and offers great skiing and après ski. Part of the Espace Killy ski area (300km of pistes), it has top facilities and a friendly atmosphere.


This is the highest ski resort in Europe, so if you’re looking to go skiing in early December or late April you don’t need to worry about a lack of snow. It’s also part of the Three Valleys ski area so you’ll find plenty of variety here for beginners, intermediates and experienced skiers.

A popular resort, Aletsch Arena is ideal for families with numerous slopes for beginners and intermediates. Experienced skiers might want to brave the high-speed course on Fiescheralp or the timed giant slalom course on Bettmeralp.


Chamonix caters for skiers of all levels of experience. The cable car takes you to heights of 3,842m on the Mont Blanc massif and Vallée Blanche. Set amid a backdrop of spectacular scenery, it has a lively après ski scene and has a good vibe at the end of a busy day on the slopes.


Sitting in the popular Les Portes du Soleil skiing area, Champéry oozes traditional charm and is one of Switzerland’s oldest and prettiest tourist destinations. There are plenty of cable cars and chair-lifts plus a snow park for freestylers.


Verbier is bordered by France to the west and Italy to the south. It’s perfect for first-time skiers, kids, snowboarders and more experienced skiers. You can also take a cable car to the summit of Mont Fort for fabulous views of the Matterhorn, Grand Combin, and Mont Blanc.
