Five star weekends in Hampshire

Five star weekends in Hampshire

Best for families

Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa

Large indoor swimming pool with big windows behind leading to sunny viewThis fabulous New Forest hotel is an ideal choice for a family break with the pony filled forest to the north and a stunning coastline to the south.

The hotel has a really cosy feel but offers views of the beautifully manicured grounds at every turn. The rooms offer all the luxury that you would expect from a five star hotel but are all very friendly and perfectly set up for families. For the perfect family break I would recommend booking one of their family suites that are set up on two floors meaning lucky mums and dads can still enjoy the rooms when the lights go out at children’s bed time. These rooms include a den for the children to sleep in which any child would love.

For real adventurers I would recommend the Tree House Suites. These secluded hideaways are away from the main house and offer more space and a real sense of being in the forest. These luxury suites are hidden away in the hotel grounds and offer a tranquil way to enjoy your break.

With tons of things to see and do in and around the New Forest this is the perfect place for a short family break!

Spitbank Fort

Outdoor hot tub with sea in the backgroundThere is no better or more unusual place to have a party than Spitbank Fort. The fort can be hired out for your friends and family to enjoy exclusively.

The fort is located in the Solent, a mile away from Portsmouth and five miles away from the Isle of Wight. The excitement begins when you arrive at the departure lounge, a room filled with sailing paraphernalia, giant sofas and as much tea and coffee as you can drink. The next part of the adventure is to jump aboard the boat and make your way to the fort, taking in all of the lovely signs of the Portsmouth coast line.

Indoor bar with brick floor and ceiling and lounge chairsWhen you arrive at the fort you are greeted with a glass of bubbly and stunning scenery. The fort dates back to the 1800’s but has recently been renovated to provide a luxurious and comfortable place to stay.

Lunch is served on top of the fort in a bright and airy bar with views of the sea and relaxing sofas. I would recommend the hammock when you are full. Dinner is taken later in the evening under the arches of the champagne bar where a three course meal is served in candlelight.

The fort offers plenty to see and do but the first thing to take in is the amazing panoramic view of the Solent. The fort includes three bars, games rooms and a hot tub as well as fabulously luxurious bedrooms for you and your party to relax in. As a relaxing treat you can learn how to fish or for the more adventurous you could take the rib for a spin in the Solent.

This quirky venue is perfect for parties and celebrations!

The Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire

Outdoor swimming pool with water cannons and hotel in backgroundYou can’t even see the hotel when you drive up to the gates; the windy drive takes you through the beautiful Hampshire countryside where you get a glimpse of the stunning Georgian Manor at the top of the hill.

Set in the centre of a vast country estate the hotel offers horse riding, fishing, shooting and falconry and is an idyllic break away from the city. You are welcomed in an old classic reception by the very friendly hotel dog Oliver and a team of people ready to check you in and take you up to your room.
The spacious bedrooms are all individually classic and have been restored to the highest standards as you would expect from a 5* hotel with views spanning across the estate. Make use of the snack menu which offers some interesting treats for you to enjoy.

When walking to the spa you will follow the smell of fresh flowers in every corner, the journey takes you into the more modern areas of the hotel which is as magnificent as the manor house. The spa is located in the old stable block and provides a truly relaxing experience. After enjoying the facilities take some time to have a drink in the Café Santa before leaving.

The hotel offers plenty of dining options and I would recommend a cocktail in Bar 1086 followed by FISH Fridays at the hotels Seasons restaurant.

This hotel is a must for couples wanting to treat themselves; it is in a stunning location and is quintessentially English. For an extra treat book a picnic basket and jump on the hotels canal boat!
