General aviation

The information on this page is intended to assist all General Aviation pilots and private jet operators wishing to visit Southampton International Airport. The information provided is designed to help with the planning of your visit, and make your visit an easy and pleasurable experience.

All GA flights need PPR (Prior Permission Required), download the PPR request form. Aircraft landing at Southampton without PPR will be sent to Signature Flight Support to be handled if space is available.

All GA aircraft will be required to park on a marked stand by either self manoeuvring or under the guidance of a marshaller. Before your arrival please familiarise yourself with marshalling signals.

UK Arrivals

All GA crew and passengers arriving from a UK destination will be required to vacate the airfield via control post 11. Crew and passengers from the aircraft will be escorted to Gate 11 by a member of the Airside Operations team.

Channel Islands and non UK Arrivals

Any GA passengers arriving from the Channel Islands or a country outside of the UK may be required to transit through the relevant arrivals hall in the main terminal building. Please ensure that a General Aviation Report is completed for UK Border Force if you are coming in from a non UK mainland destination.

Landing, parking, ground handling and training fees are to be paid in the Operations watchroom, either on arrival or departure. Fees are to be paid by debit or credit card only, view conditions of use.

All crew and passengers are to report to control post 11, which is the second exit on the right after the entrance to the multi-storey car park located along Tinker Alley.

All crew and passengers will need to be security screened before accessing airside and are subject to the same security restrictions as any passenger departing a UK airport. A member of the Operations team will meet you at the security checkpoint to escort you back to your aircraft.

If flying IFR or to a non UK mainland destination please ensure a flight plan is submitted prior to your departure. If flying VFR to a UK mainland destination you will be required to book out with a member of the Operations team in the Operations Watchroom.
