Driving to Southampton Airport
Directions
Southampton Airport is situated just outside the city and easily reached from the M27 motorway at junction 5.
If you're coming from the M3, exit at junction 14 and follow the M27 east (towards Portsmouth), then exit at junction 5. The airport is also easily reached via the A34 from Oxford and Newbury, joining the M3 at junction 9.
Drivers coming from central Southampton should take the A335 (signposted Eastleigh, Airport).

Drop off and Pick Up
The passenger drop off/pick up area is located on the ground floor of the Short Stay Car Park adjacent to the terminal building. First 10 minutes is free, with no free return within 30 minutes, thereafter charges apply.
Regarding the ‘no free return within 30 minutes' amendment made February 2013. In February 2013 a ‘no free return within 30 minutes’ process was introduced for the following reasons:
- Passenger safety is paramount to the operation at Southampton Airport and a concerning number of ‘near misses’ involving vehicles performing U-turns have been reported as a result of the abuse of the 10 minute free arrangements. Road markings and traffic management policies are in place to protect passengers arriving at the terminal and should be adhered at all times.
- To ensure there is sufficient space at busy times for arriving/departing passengers in the pick up/drop off area.
Oversized vehicles are advised to drop off and pick up passengers in the Long Stay Car Park, a short bus journey away from the terminal. Drivers of oversized vehicles are eligible for 30 minutes free stay, thereafter charges will apply
Parking
The Short Stay Car Park is located next to the terminal and is suitable for stays of less than 24 hours. The Long Stay Car Park is a few minutes from the terminal by courtesy bus.
Passengers can be dropped off in the Short Stay Car Park's under-cover drop-off zone. Drivers are allowed up to 10 minutes in the car park for free (please note there is no return within 30 minutes).
Motorcyclists can park free of charge in the dedicated bays in the Short Stay Car Park.
