Baggage enquiries
Baggage handling and delivery is the responsibility of the airlines from the point of check-in to the point of collection. If anything is left on an aircraft or an airline bus, please contact the airline immediately. Some airlines subscribe to a replacement service for baggage which has been damaged in transit. For details please contact your airline directly.
Baggage restrictionsPassengers travelling through Southampton are only able to check in bags which bags 32kg (70lb) or less. For more information about checked baggage rules, please contact your airline. To find out about hand baggage restrictions, please visit our security control page.
Cash dispensersCash machines can be found on the main concourse next to the ICE bureau de change (before security); next to WHSmith on the lower level of the departure lounge (after security); and next to the Flybe executive lounge on the upper departures level (after security). Some dispense euros as well as UK currency.
Checking inThe check-in area is to your left as you enter the terminal building. For more information about check-in times and procedures, view our checking in page.
CurrencyThere is an ICE bureau de change on the main concourse (before security), next to WHSmith. To save yourself time, you can order currency online with ICE and pick it up at the airport.
Food and drinkSouthampton Airport has café bars both before and after security, offering a range of snacks, meals and drinks. For details visit our food and drink page.
Help pointUse the help point to view live flight updates, find facilities on an airport map, pick up a flight timetable or get detailed information about transport or accommodation. The help point is in the main concourse, between arrivals and departures. Next to it you'll also find a tourist information touch-screen terminal. If you need further help, just ask one of our roaming Airport Ambassadors who will be happy to help.
Internet accessInternet-connected PCs operated by Spectrum Interactive are available next to the help point (before security) and on the upper level of the departure lounge (after security).
Wireless internet access is provided by T-Mobile, BT Openzone, The Cloud and Boingo networks – simply turn on your device and choose your provider.
If you need power, there are T-Mobile computer desks on the landing between levels of the departure lounge, and BT Openzone laptop chairs on the upper level in the viewing area (both after security). Power sockets, a place to work and instructions on logging in are provided.
Left baggageBaggage can be left in our new facility for £5.00 per item. Some restrictions apply. For further details, please visit the Aviance desk in the main terminal or call 0870 040 0009.
LoungesThe Flybe Executive Lounge, on the upper departures level (after security) is available to all Flybe Economy Plus passengers. For details, please visit the Flybe website.
Lost propertyIf you lose items whilst you are at the airport, please go to the Aviance desk in the check-in area. If you discover you have lost items once you have left the airport, call 0870 040 0009 and select option 3.

Medical helpIf you feel unwell please alert a member of staff, who will arrange for a qualified first aider to take care of you.
Meeting at the airportThere is no official meeting point in the terminal. However, there is a public seating area and the Aura café bar close to the exit from Customs.
Post facilitiesThere is a post box outside the terminal, across the road from the bus stops. Stamps are available from the WHSmith store inside the terminal.
Rest and relaxationNeed to take the weight off your feet? There's plenty of seating throughout the terminal, before and after security. If you want to watch the aircraft, you'll find a viewing area on the upper level of the departure lounge, looking out over the runway. There are also massage chairs here – they're great fun and only cost £1 for three minutes of kneading, rolling and tapping in true shiatsu style.
Security control and boardingTo reach the departure lounge you will pass through security control. Your boarding card will be inspected and you will be screened, along with your hand baggage. For further information, visit our security control page.
Passengers pass through an archway metal detector. The detector is safe for pregnant women, but if you have any concerns you can request a hand search. Passengers with pacemakers should request a hand search, and wheelchair users will also have a hand search. Hand searches can take place in a private, screened area for the comfort of our passengers.
Some passengers and/or flights may be selected for additional searches at security control or at the departure gate; including hand searches supported by explosives trace detection equipment. Passengers are chosen at random for these searches – please don't be concerned or offended. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us ensure the safety and security of all passengers.

Smoking areasIn line with UK law, smoking is not permitted inside the airport buildings. There is a designated smoking area outside the terminal, near the entrance. However, you will not be able to smoke once you have passed through security control into the departure lounge.
TelephonesThere are payphones throughout the airport, before and after security. Most phones accept UK coins or major credit cards. There's also a phone which accepts euro coins on the upper level of the departure lounge, after security.
Free baggage trolleys are provided in key areas around the terminal building – in the car park, terminal forecourt, check-in area and baggage reclaim hall. Please help yourself if you need one.
