Connecting at Southampton
Here's your essential guide to transferring between flights at Southampton Airport.
We do our best to ensure your transfer is as quick and easy as possible, but please help us by allowing plenty of time between your connecting flights.
Customs and immigrationIf you are connecting from an international flight to a UK flight you will need to pass through passport control.
If you are connecting from a UK flight to an international flight you will need to pass through special immigration control points, where you may be asked to show your passport.
BaggageYour baggage may be through-checked to your final destination, but please confirm this with your airline as not all offer this service.
If your baggage is not through-checked, please collect it from the baggage reclaim hall, then check your bags in as normal for the next leg of your journey.
Flybe passengers will find the Flybe Transit Point in the arrivals area.
Boarding cardsYou will usually be issued with all necessary boarding cards at your original point of departure. If this is not the case, please contact your airline on arrival.
Connection timesMinimum connection times vary depending on your route and your carrier. Please confirm this information with your airline.
If your inward flight is delayed and are likely to miss your onward flight, please go to your airline's desk on arrival. Your airline representative will be able to advise you of your options.

Stopover informationDon't forget, there is nowhere to sleep in the airport. If your booking includes a stopover in a local hotel, then simply leave the airport via passport control, baggage reclaim and Customs, then check in as normal ahead of your onward flight.
