Community matters
Community matters to BAA Southampton.
We have a strong commitment to the communities around our airport and aim to address issues of prime local concern, notably the disturbance caused to local residents such as noise.
We also aim to create opportunities for local residents to enjoy their local airport – even those who don't use it regularly – to make the most of the economic benefits such as creating jobs for local people.
BAA Southampton, as owner and operator of the airport, is committed to minimising the impact that airport operations has on its neighbours and to run the airport responsibly.
We do this through our community relations programme, which supports the three elements of the sustainability framework – environmental, social and economic. We invest in the community, make donations to local good causes and involve staff in community projects.
