New Forest and Hampshire Country Show
Brockenhurst, 29th – 31st July
The New Forest and Hampshire County Show, a fun day out for all the family, has been taking place in Brockenhurst for the best part of a century. There is special entertainment for children, including the Forest Fun Factory, axemen and lumberjack competitions, New Forest-style sheep racing and the Dancing Diggers. More traditional country pursuits are also showcased.
Twenty20 Cup Final
Rose Bowl, Southampton, 26th July
To the dismay of the traditionalists this shorter version of the domestic game seems to have taken the world of cricket by storm. With the top four teams battling it out to become Twenty20 champions, spectators can be sure of a day filled to the brim with excitement.

The hilarious Jimmy Carr returns to Southampton for one night only. With a show set to include never heard before material, the British comedy award winner is all but guaranteed to put on a riotous show.
Cowes Week
Cowes, Isle of Wight, 2nd – 9th August
One of the U.K’s longest running and most successful sporting events. Over 100,000 spectators and 8,500 competitors, from world class professionals to weekend sailors, come to enjoy a week of nautical fun. There is a fantastic mix of competitive sailing and parties. Come and soak up the unique atmosphere.
Southampton International Boat Show
Mayflower Park, Southampton, 12th – 21st September
The largest on-water boating display in the world and a must-see for all boating enthusiasts. Along with the latest marine innovations, there will be lots of interactive fun to be had with ‘Try-a-boat’ and ‘Try-a-dive’ exhibitions. It's all just a few minutes' travelling time from the airport.
Animal Windfest
Sandbanks, Poole, 12th – 14th September
The UK’s premier windsurfing and kite-surfing championship. Featuring a vast array of exciting sports including windsurfing, kitesurfing, wakeboarding, biking and volleyball, and all topped off with a fabulous beach party.
Portsmouth and Southsea Festival
Castle Field, Southsea, 9th – 12th October
A mud-free British music festival is a rare thing. Held in a tent big enough for 8,000 people, this local festival is certain to be fun whatever the weather. Featuring local and international talent there will be rock, indie and dance music, and a family fun day too.
