Arriving Passengers
All the services you need to make your arrival stress free are at hand. Don’t forget to collect your luggage and take time to read the signs, so your route through passport control and out of the airport will be trouble free.
Passport control
For all passengers not making a connecting flight your first stop is passport control, which will be clearly signposted on your arrival.
Once at the passport booth an immigration officer will ask to see you passport. You will also need any supporting documentation necessary for your visit. Also, please remember that your passport must not expire during your visit to the UK.
Customs
There may be luggage from more than one flight on each carousel, so please be patient and try not to block access for others.
For your safety and quick journey through the airport, please note the following:
- Never carry anything into the UK for somebody else.
- Never bring goods which are prohibited into the UK. If in doubt ask at the customs enquiry point.
- If you are unsure about your duty/tax free entitlement, go to the customs enquiry point.
- If you are connecting from an international flight to another international flight you will not need to clear customs.
- If you are connecting from an international flight to a UK flight you must clear customs and immigration.
Baggage
Please remember to take care when lifting heavy bags and suitcases. All BAA airports have free baggage trolleys for your use and plenty will be available in the reclaim hall.
