Innovative car hire centre at Southampton Airport
A new Car Hire Reception Centre has been officially opened at Southampton Airport by Managing Director, Chris Butler. The specially designed facility will house five car hire companies, including Avis, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz and National Alamo.
The dedicated centre is located next to the airport terminal, en route to the car rental vehicles, meaning passengers will experience a smoother and more efficient journey when travelling through the airport.
The centre has also been an opportunity for improved passenger facilities. Europcar has enhanced its previous ‘Meet and Greet’ service, with a new retail outlet based onsite for the first time, offering greater choice to passengers. Other operators are able to provide a more convenient and efficient service with increased counter space and information points.
Over the next 5 years, the centre is expected to provide over half a million car rentals, for people visiting the region for both business and leisure purposes.

"Our new location is a break from car rental industry tradition in terms of design and layout with oval pods replacing a single high desk, enabling Avis rental staff to interact closely with customers and provide a more personal service."
