Costs
The concessionaire is responsible for paying the costs of fit-out and maintenance, along with all operating costs including staff, metered utilities and waste. At Heathrow there is an additional cost for the Heathrow Consolidation Centre which is a cross docking facility for retail deliveries. 

Staff and recruitment
The security of our airports is of the highest priority. All staff working in airside areas are required to hold a security ID pass. The procedures for applying for this pass can be time consuming, but are nonetheless necessary. To apply for a permanent security ID pass a full 5 year working history with references for the same period are required along with a valid criminal record check. 

Opening hours
BAA’s UK airports operate 365 days a year. Opening hours are determined by the terminal flight schedule and vary by location, product category and time of year. Core retail operates from first to last flight in all locations.
